About Texas Mold Remediation
Last updated October 2026. Independent site, not affiliated with TDLR.
In short: Texas Mold Remediation (texasmoldremediation.org) is an independent directory and education site for Texas mold licensing. We help property owners find mold professionals who hold an active Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) license, and we explain how to check that license yourself. We are not a mold remediation or mold assessment company, we don't perform mold work, and we are not part of TDLR.
Who Runs This Site
Texas Mold Remediation is an independently owned website. It is not run by a mold contractor, a mold assessor, an insurance company, or a government agency. The site is built around one idea: in Texas, most mold assessment and remediation work must be done by people licensed under Occupations Code Chapter 1958, and homeowners should be able to check that quickly before they hire anyone.
We don't publish staff bios or claim credentials we can't show you. Instead, we point to the primary sources (TDLR and Texas statutes) so you can check our work directly.
Our Mission
- Make it easy to find TDLR-licensed mold assessors and remediators in every Texas county and major city.
- Teach homeowners, tenants, landlords, and buyers how to verify a license on TDLR before signing a contract.
- Explain Texas mold rules in plain English, such as the assessor/remediator conflict-of-interest rule and the paperwork a licensed job should produce, with links to the statute and TDLR.
What Data We Show
Our Texas directory and the license tables on our county and city pages come from public TDLR license data. TDLR publishes this data for anyone to download. We include four license types: Mold Remediation Contractors, Mold Remediation Companies, Mold Assessment Consultants, and Mold Assessment Companies. We show only records that TDLR lists as current with a Texas address. Our methodology page explains how we collect, filter, and refresh the data, and why our counts can differ from other sites.
Our copy of TDLR's data can be days behind TDLR. A license can expire, be suspended, or be renewed between our updates. The official record is always on TDLR License Search.
How the Site Makes Money (Disclosure)
Some pages show a featured contractor or a phone call-to-action, such as (512) 522-6796. Calling a featured number, or a general phone number on this site, may connect you with a mold professional listed in our directory or with a partner business, not with us and not with TDLR. Licensed contractors can apply to be featured. We review the applicant's TDLR license before a featured listing goes live, but a featured placement is not an endorsement, a guarantee of work quality, or a TDLR approval.
Whoever you call, from this site or anywhere else, verify the license yourself on TDLR License Search before you hire. Also confirm that your mold assessor and your remediator are separate, independent companies, as Texas law requires.
Not Affiliated with TDLR
Texas Mold Remediation is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation or any other government agency. For official information, license history, or complaints, go to the TDLR Mold Assessors and Remediators program or call TDLR Customer Service at 800-803-9202.
